My P99 Sling Bag

I'm always amazed by what just a hundred bucks can get me. It's even less this time at P99. It's a tiny, green sling bag from Parisian by SM. I bought this impulsively (again) but I didn't regret it. I can see myself using this when I go to the mall or when running some errands outside.
Untitled

This bag is made of faux leather. I like the color, first and foremost. I also like how it looks sturdy and girly at the same time.

It's lovely, isn't it?

Sturdy and Stylish Belts from Saizen!

They say Japan-made products are cool and durable. I think there's some truth to that. Back when I was a kid, we had a Sony TV that lasted for more than a decade. It would have lasted longer had it not been stolen. Haha. See my point? Japan-made stuff have this reputation that I can't help patronizing them. Like the ones sold at Saizen, for instance.

I was at Saizen-The District, Imus last Sunday afternoon and hoarded their belts, among other things. Well, not exactly. I actually just bought four pieces.

Prior to this, I already bought two belts from Saizen. They are just basic belts, one in black and the other in brown. They are fantastic! I wear them with my pants to work on an almost daily basis and they still look brand-new. No peeling of the skin/material of the belt nor the thread, no nothing. They're made of faux leather but quality-wise, they look top class. A few weeks ago, the black got misplaced (or might have been stolen again!) and so I thought of replacing it when the opportunity presented itself (which was that Sunday afternoon).

So, back to the four new belts. These are the first two:

Untitled

The black one is the replacement for the one I've recently lost while the metallic gold one is for pairing with my shorts. Aren't they lovely? For just P88 a piece, I think they're a steal!

Untitled

These are the other two belts:

Untitled

Aren't the ribbon details so cute? Very classy and feminine, indeed. These two are for pairing with dresses and I can't wait to wear them!

Untitled

I won't mind using cheap stuff so long as they are stylish and sturdy, like these gorgeous belts I got from Saizen. Try checking out the cheap belts at Saizen, ladies, and lemme know how it goes for you! :)

Houndstooth Flats from Solemate

When I saw this pair of flat shoes from Solemate at the department store of SM Bacoor, I knew I had to have it. I’ve always wanted to have a houndstooth in my closet. I’ve yet to acquire my dream houndstooth blazer, so this will do for now. Haha.

Untitled

For P299.75, it’s pretty cheap. Solemate shoes are really priced like that. They even have buy one, take one shoes at just P499.75. Their shoes are known to have soft soles. They are very comfortable and are made for walking. I just don’t like how thin the soles feel. It’s like my feet can get wet in an instant should I walk in a damp road. But it’s okay, I should just take note of the road I’m walking in wearing these shoes. I have to make sure it’s dry and all.

Anyway, I’ve already worn this pair at work. I paired it with an all-black outfit and it gave the contrast I was aiming for. My bad, I should’ve taken a picture and uploaded it here. Maybe next time.

P100 Casual Tops and Skirts from John Brian Boutique

I got some spare money two weeks ago and decided to spend it on shopping. They say a girl can’t have too many shoes but this time, I went for clothes. Casual clothes, to be exact. I’m happy to report that I got some fab finds from this relatively unknown boutique called John Brian. The shop can be found at the ground floor of Robinsons Place Manila, just a few meters away from Wendy’s.

It was my first time to shop at John Brian Boutique. Basically, it sells cheap but trendy casual clothes. They have racks and racks of them, from tops and skirts to jackets and pants. There’s something for everyone here. If you’re on a tight budget like me, I suggest getting from their P99.95 racks. I was lucky to score three tops and two skirts from them (all very fashionable) which I can’t wait to wear!

For P500 for all five, I think it’s so sulit. The quality of the clothes I bought is quite good but not superior. For casual clothes, I think this is okay. :)

Fashionable Big Clutches Under P500!

I have shopped for a few stuff this week. As always, I was on a budget so I really made sure to find cheap items that would satisfy me and wouldn't compromise my comfort, fashion and style standards. Allow me to share with you the two cheap yet trendy big clutches I got. One was from Something Borrowed (via Zalora, a local online shopping site) and the other one was from Liberte (via Robinsons Department Store, Robinsons Place Manila).

Untitled

The studded, black big clutch is fun and fierce at the same time. I got it for P499. It was on sale at 50% off, the original price being P998. Zalora is a great shopping site, they always have a variety of items on sale. You'll also love their fast, seamless service. It's my second time to shop from the site and I'm quite satisfied with how they handle things there.

Untitled

Untitled

The red brown/beige combo, on the other hand, speaks elegance and style. I bought it for just P330. Liberte is known for its cheap yet stylish pieces, just check out their collection at all Robinsons Department Store and see for yourself.

Untitled

I can imagine myself pairing the two big clutches with dresses (when I'm off to some casual event) and trousers/shorts (when I'm going to a meeting, hanging out with friends or just hitting the mall). Actually, I think I can use them in virtually all occasions. Yes, we're talking about versatility here. When buying an accessory like clutches/clutch bags, one should look for affordability, versatility, style and overall look.

'Till my next budget shopping trip, ladies!:)

Cheap and Trendy Shoes from SM Supermarket

If you haven't known yet, you can also find nice shoes and clothes at SM Supermarket. During my last grocery shopping at the supermarket of SM Bacoor, I chanced upon two pairs of really nice yet very cheap shoes. Each pair costs only P299.75. It can't be any cheaper than that!

Untitled

At first glance, these jelly shoes look like real loafers. Shoe Box (the name of the brand) really got the design and style right. I love the bloody red color of this one. I didn't hesitate to buy this pair because it makes my feet look fairer and it's also perfect for rainy days like what we have here in Manila right now. Haha.

Untitled

I've always loved peep-toe shoes. These peep-toe flats are so light and comfy. The ribbon detail with black shiny metal underneath is very chic. While fitting it I could already imagine myself wearing it to work. So nice.

I dunno how long these two shoes will last (I'm calculating it to maybe a few months or more) but for P299.75 each, I think they are so sulit! :)

Shoe Sale: P749 Platform Sandals from Celine (CLN)

I was at SM Manila last Sunday night. Before joining the hubby and his family for dinner at Max's Restaurant, I checked out the shoe sale at CLN and impulsively bought a new pair of shoes. It was a beautiful pair of platform sandals at 50% off. From the original price of P1,498, I just paid P749 for it. What a bargain!

Untitled

The platform sandals are in a lovely shade of teal.

Untitled

Untitled

Untitled
the heels are actually taller than what this photo shows, I think it's 4 to 4 1/2 inches

The design is actually YSL-inspired. You know, like the picture below:

Yves Saint Laurent_Shoe_15

Both the YSL and CLN sandals have the same strap design but different heels and platforms. The materials used are also different. And while the YSL sandals are leather-y, the CLN sandals have a glossy finish. Anyway, I like my new shoes a lot. I also like the fact that they're from CLN which is known for high quality shoes. (I got my wedding shoes from CLN and I still wear them to work these days.) Did I mention my new shoes are light which makes them really comfy to wear? I think I can stand in this for hours. :)

Budget shoppers, if you're looking for new shoes, check out the CLN store nearest to your place because they're on sale until this week, if I'm not mistaken. You also won't be disappointed because their racks and racks of shoes on sale have sizes. You know the feeling when you check out a shoe sale and fall in love with the perfect pair and find out it's in the wrong size? You ask the sales lady immediately if they have your size and she tells you with a straight and unfriendly face that it's the last stock on display? How frustrating could that be? Thank God it hasn't happened to me yet in CLN. That's why I so like it there! :)

Fab Accessories from 999 Mall, Divisoria

Whenever I have extra money, I go budget shopping at my happy place called Divisoria. I used to frequent 168 Mall but when 999 Mall opened, my visits got divided between the two. 999 Mall is less crowded and way cooler (their air-con units are new, that's why) than 168 Mall. I can't really stop visiting the latter, though, because the shops there sell cheaper stuff than the ones at the former.

Last Sunday, I went to Divisoria with my brother and my sister. My latest acquisitions were fab accessories from 999 Mall. Can you believe I bought everything in the photo below for less than P400? Yes, no kidding.

Untitled

I couldn't decide between the turquoise (or is it teal?) and the coral, so I got both colors with matching earrings. I also added a statement necklace in the bunch. I can't wait to wear them all!

Turquoise Necklace, P65
Coral Bracelet, P80
Statement Necklace, P100
Three Pairs of Earrings, 3 for P100

I'm so proud of my purchases. I also bought some cheap tops but that's for another post. Another budget shopping mission accomplished. :)

P199.75 Casual Tops for Women from SM Supermarket

Just what treasures you could find in the most unexpected places. Take the SM Supermarket, for instance. They now have a section where clothes are on display. They have everything from children's clothes to tops and bottoms for men and women and even undergarments. Just recently, I have found these two casual tops that were dirt-cheap at P199.75 at the supermarket of SM Bacoor. They look like surplus/overruns to me with the brand labels intentionally removed/cut. But still, I consider them fab purchases.

Untitled

Untitled

These two can be worn to work, too. Wear them inside a blazer and you're good to go. Actually, the first one can even stand on its own, without a blazer. I love them! :)

P299 Beige Platforms from Janilyn

It was one of those impulsive purchases that I didn't regret making. I was at Glorietta then waiting for my husband to fetch me from a blog event I just attended. On our way to the parking lot, I saw a Janilyn store (that famous shoe brand that local celebs wear!) and they were on sale. I decided to checked it out for a few minutes and this beige platforms was just screaming my name. Haha. I bought it without second thoughts when I saw the price tag of P299. It was the last pair and fortunately, it was in my size!

Untitled

As you can see from the photos, it looks like it has 3-inch heels. Whatever. All I know is that my ugly feet looks good on it and it makes them look smaller and slimmer. Very flattering, if you know what I mean. And I think that's what's most important.

At just P299, it's like I got a huge discount considering the original price was P1,495. Well, it was actually P1,995 as what the shoe box says.

Another budget shopping item from your budget shopping gal here. 'Till next time! :)

New LBD from Liberte, Robinsons Department Store

I've known Liberté, a private clothing brand at Robinsons Department Store, since college days. I used to frequent Robinsons Place Ermita before because it's a mere 30-step walk from our university. Back then, I could only afford their basic tops. When I landed my first job, I continued checking out the clothes from Liberté whenever I'd get the chance.

Untitled

Over the years, I've acquired several pieces from Liberté's various collections. My latest acquisition is this little black dress (LBD) which I got without trying on myself. One look and I knew I just had to have it. One look and I knew it fits me. Haha.

Untitled

Anyway, it's a simple, pencil-cut dress with sheer details just around the cleavage area and the left and right sides of the waist. Sorry, I'm bad at describing clothes and I'm not so familiar with clothing lingo so please bear with me. But I think you will agree with me when I say it's a combination of cotton, spandex and polyester. Haha. Just see it for yourself, okay?

I got this LBD for P699.75. Super cheap, ayt? I remember a few weeks ago, I found a similar dress at a People are People shop and at a Forever 21 store but theirs were priced P1,000 and above. It's a good thing I didn't buy impulsively and waited for this moment to arrive. Oh, the joys of budget shopping! If it looks good on me and it comes in a reasonable price, I don't hesitate to buy it. :)

The Perfect Office Shoes

I've finally found the perfect office shoes. At SM Department Store, for that matter. It's a pair of black peep-toe pumps from the brand Chelsea priced at just P799.75. I also got it with a 10% discount because SM is having a bag and shoes sale which runs from March 1 to 31, 2013 only.

Untitled

Aren't my new shoes a beauty? If you haven't noticed yet, this pair has a combination of patent leather (which gives it a glossy appearance on the body) and a type of leather with a fabric-like texture (front and back sides).

Untitled

It's the perfect office shoes for me because 1) it's black, 2) the heels are just right, it doesn't feel like I'm going to a party or something, 3) it's open-toed which means my feet can breathe more and 4) it's affordable.

Untitled

Any shoe purchase lately? I'd love to hear from you, budget shopper! :)

I am amazed how Landmark can sell clothes so affordable and have new arrivals every time. Like every freaking time. That, or maybe I just don't get to shop there so frequently. Haha.

CHILL Clothing Brand at SM Department Store

Only a few people know, but I am really a sucker for skirts. I feel feminine and comfortable wearing skirts and I love how it allows me to experiment with many looks and styles. I'm no fashionista but I know how to dress up well when the need arises. My latest skirt acquisition came from the SM Department Store. The brand is CHILL and I got it for just P200!

It's a tight-fitting mini-skirt with a cool and strategically-designed Aztec prints in front and at the back. When I saw it hanging in one of the racks, I just had to have it! And I got ecstatic when I saw it had a yellow tag which meant it was on sale. Haha.

Untitled

this skirt is pure love!

I would find out later that CHILL is another brand from Xara Philippines. Their website has this to say about the brand:

"CHILL is RMI’s girls teen’s wear line that caters to the fashionista who is always looking for the newest trends. The CHILL girl wears only reasonably priced outfits that will make her look good, feel good and stand out from a crowd. She is FUN, FRESH and ORIGINAL. Every girl looks up to her for her personality and style."

Look for this clothing brand when you shop at your fave SM Dept. Store and you might just get some really cool finds! :)

Cheap Leggings from Landmark-Makati!

Last Saturday, I shopped at Landmark-Makati a.k.a. my fave shopping place after watching the movie Parker with the hubby and my MIL. I just wanna share with you my new leggings which I bought for a cheap price of P149.75 each. I got these babies from the bazaar section of the department store.

Untitled

One factor I consider when buying leggings is the garter used on the waist. It has to be really sturdy or the crotch area would go down and you would be forced to do the agonizing chore of pulling your leggings up every now and then. My new leggings passed the test. For one, the garters are durable. And when I tried each of them on, the crotch part is secure while I walked around the cubicle. I particularly love the one in the middle because of the soft, glossy fabric and the beautiful print. I actually bought two of that but decided to give one to my mom because she loves nice leggings like I do.

I daresay these leggings are a wise-buy! :)

Accessory Review: Accessorize London

Accessorize London is the latest accessory shop I'm frequenting these days. Why not if it has lots of fancy accessories that are sure to brighten every girl's outfit? I swear this is one shop where you can get nicely-made beaded, gold and silver-plated jewelry, bags in printed and floral patterns, leather belts, fashionable head pieces and a lot more.

So far, I've gotten only a handful of items from this shop and it seems I'd go back again for more. I like that the shop always has a sale (up to 70% off on most occasions), but it isn't store-wide. This means the customers have the freedom to choose between the sale and the regular-priced items, depending on what kind of accessory we're looking for.

As for me, I can only afford to buy from the sale items. Well, except for my first purchase which included a charmed necklace and this ring which I got at its regular price of P450:

IMG_5145

Normally, I always end up getting gorgeous items from Accessorize London at rock-bottom prices. Like this "leafy" bracelet which I only got for P114:

IMG_5462

And these two necklaces which I got for P180 each:

IMG_5451
don't you just love this necklace's bird pendant?

IMG_5450
this necklace looks very Christmas-y, eh?

So far, there are only two Accessorize shops that I know of: the one in Mall of Asia (MOA) and the one at Robinson Place Ermita. I prefer the latter because it has bigger space and more updated items than the former. But still, you have to check out the stores yourself to better understand what I mean.

IMG_5436
this shop always give up to 70% discounts!

There's one thing I could guarantee you, though. The staff of Accessorize London are friendly but never pushy and utterly distracting. They'd just let you choose, pick and try on their products to your heart's desire. Personally, that's the kind of service I want. I think SM sales clerks could learn a thing or two from them. :)
